    Background: Brook founded Sociable Thunder Bay in early 2020. She moved to Thunder Bay from Minnesota in 2017 where she had been working with the Minnesota DNR, State Parks and Trails Division for 8 years as their Digital Marketing Specialist and Project Manager. She started with Confederation College in early 2019 as their International Marketing Lead and left that role in 2021 to pursue Sociable full-time. Since then, Sociable has worked with over 90 local businesses in Thunder Bay and organizations across Ontario.

    • Born in Yellowknife, NWT, and grew up in Thunder Bay, ON. She has also lived in Winnipeg, MB; Victoria, BC; Vancouver, BC; and Toronto, ON.

    Background: Emily’s career has taken her across Canada, and spanned several different types of organizations. She has worked with both non-profit and for-profit, where philanthropy, conflict management, and employee relations were the main focus of her work. Founding her own business, Emily Shandruk Solutions in 2019 with the primary focus on non-profit consulting; her love of special events led her to partner with Brook and co-create Sociable Solutions. Her main focus is around Special Event Management, which still includes workshops focusing on assisting organizations that are undergoing change and looking for support with employee relations, difficult conversations, performance reviews, and exit interviews.

Taking courses in copywriting and travel writing in her spare time, she enjoys painting a picture with words when pictures can’t do it justice.
